3rd International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics-Junior 2024
With approval from the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) counsel, the 3rd International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics-Junior will be held from October 3-10, 2024, in Kathmandu, Nepal. Details about national Olympiads can be found at IOAA National Olympiads. Countries without a national Olympiad program are encouraged to get in touch. The IOAA-jr aims to foster interest in Astronomy and related STEM fields among young students and strengthen international connections. The event is expected to inspire high school students to pursue astronomy at the university level and join the next generation of professionals.
International Youth Math Challenge
The International Youth Math Challenge is a global competition for students to showcase their math skills and creativity. In the 2024 Qualification Round, participants must solve at least three (under 18) or four (over 18) out of five problems to advance. Solutions are accepted online until December 15, 2024, and all participants receive certificates. Qualified students can then register for the Pre-Final Round in October, where they have four days to solve 10 problems for an 8 EUR registration fee. Finalists will take an online exam supervised by their teacher, with winners earning certificates and cash prizes totaling over 700 USD.
